Simple Red Lentil Dahl
This red lentil dal, is a staple accompanying dish in India and Nepal. It is simple, cheap and extremely quick to make, which makes it the perfect mid-week meal.
I do have a recipe for a more flavourful chana (split chickpea) dahl I look forward to sharing with you soon.
The most common lentils traditionally used to make this are masoor (red lentil), toor (pigeon pea) and urud (black gram, not the same as beluga)
Ingredients:
1 cup red lentils
2 cups water
1tsp salt
1tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
Method: Simply add all ingredients to the pressure cooker and cook for 10 minutes once the pressure has started.
Change it up!
Add vegetables: Broccolli, kale, peas are my favourite.
Add split peas or make it with different lentils
